Solar panels will be fixed according to your energy demand and the generated energy is fed back to the grid zeroing your bill. With this plan, a person can use solar energy to drastically cut down on or even completely eliminate their monthly electricity bill. The solar power system will supply electricity to the CEB grid, which will be deducted from the amount of energy consumed by the consumer. Any surplus power produced will be stored as Credits and made available to customers in subsequent billing cycles. The Net-Metering plan requires the consumer to sign a 20-year contract with the CEB.
This scheme is similar to Net-Metering in that it enables customers to not only save money on their electricity bills, but also to generate revenue. The CEB will compensate the customer for the extra energy produced. During the first seven years of the contract, the rate of payment will be Rs 22.00, and during the subsequent 13 years, the rate will be Rs 15.00. The consumer will enter into a 20-year contract with the CEB for this scheme.
The Net-Plus scheme will allow a consumer to earn income for all solar power units generated, regardless of their existing electricity usage. The solar power system will feed energy to the CEB grid, and these units will be metered and the CEB will pay the consumer for these units. The rate of payment will be Rs 22.00 during the first seven years of the agreement, and Rs 15.00 for the next 13 years. The consumer will sign a 20-year agreement with the CEB for this scheme.
